I have an Arlo Pro with 3 cameras. Can I add an upgraded HD camera with the Arlo Pro (VMB 4000) base?

Not sure which "HD" model cam you are meaning but the VMB4000 is compatible with all newer cameras. Here is link on what base/hubs are compatible with.

Just remember the Ultra and newer require a subscription after the free trial for cloud recordings.
