My wife is on IOS 15.6 and I am on IOS 16. We both have the most updated arlo app. The only cause I have been able to come up with is that it has stopped switching between home and away mode automatically (based on our locations) since I upgraded to IOS 16. The app still knows where both of us are however the mode doesn't switch between home and away as it had been doing previously and just stays on the mode it is set on (or scheduled to be on). Arlo is there a solution or fix for this?

Interesting that Pixel phones have the issue while my own doesn't.
Have you checked the phones' location settings? Have you rebooted at least one and reinstalled the app?

Just saw an earlier post in this thread indicating that 3 Pixel phones are having the problem while my own has not (but haven't tried it out today). @JamesC @ShayneS can you escalate this? In the meantime ALL users having issues should be reporting this to support via Settings, Support (old UI) or Settings (person icon top left), Support Center (new UI). That's the only way to alert official support - this is just a user forum with a couple of Arlo moderators.

I received an app update overnight. Being NZ we wake up to these things before the rest of the world so will keep you posted.

@shoustonnz This is the exact same thing that is happening with my system. This is only apparent as of the last couple of weeks.
I have found that Geofencing is not seeing us leave our zone. Whilst home. If I toggle from schedule and back to Geofencing, the system says I am at home. I then leave the zone and Geofencing does not recognize this and stays in Home mode. But whilst out of the zone I need toggle between scheduled and Geofencing. The system says I am at home, and then says I am away.
But as soon as I get home Geofencing sees this and changes to Home mode.
So it is working coming home but not leaving.
I have reproduced this 3 times now.

Per the comment that these issues should be reported to Arlo Support, instead of the Arlo Community, ...
I started out by trying to work with the Arlo Support team. It's been very difficult. As such, I switched over to the Arlo Community for reporting issues. My hope was that the Arlo Moderators would act on our behalf and relay these issues back to the developers. I think that is happening; at least I hope it is. I feel like the Arlo community Moderators are trying to make things better. I just did not have that feeling when working with support. Anyway, I would not be surprised if that's why so many folks have been discussing their problems in this forum. Also, working with the Arlo community allows others to chime in as to whether or not they are having the same problems, or not. This is important for us community users, for Arlo factory, and for Arlo community moderators.
Furthermore, here are my additional gripes about using Arlo Support:
1) When trying to update a support case on the PC, if being asked for additional information, you only get a tiny window to type in. It's like 3 or 4 lines. That makes it difficult to add a lengthy response.
2) After typing in a lengthy response on the PC, I click on submit. Inevitably, I get an Arlo Server error. This is super annoying, a real waste of time. I don't have this problem with the Arlo community postings.
3) I would like to see my full support case on the PC. That is, all entries, .... It is not possible. You can only see the full support case on your phone's tiny screen. Not user friendly.
4) After posting files to a support case, it's not possible to see them in the support case. So, it's unclear if they actually got attached. In the Arlo community, I can see the files I've posted.
5) You can't attach PDF files to the support case, which I tried to do after #2 above.
6) The support team is continually sending me email messages saying that if I don't update the support case, it will automatically be closed in so many days. However, nothing has changed!! Things are still broken; I have nothing to add. It's just so weird.
7) Arlo support may be better at helping with pilot errors, but they don't seem so good (to me) when it's actually an Arlo system defect. It seems like issues go into a black hole.

@DogWatchMe
That is correct, I make sure the appropriate teams are aware of all the info the community provides & vice versa. The issue is being investigated and I will be sure to update this thread as soon as I hear more.

Hope this is still being investigated. I had this exact issue on Motorola and after countless times of support sending same resolutions that don't work (check permissions, uninstall, re-add phone etc...) I finally gave up. Got a new phone today pixel 7 and was hoping geofencing would start working again but nope!

"Tried it all" doesn't help. On an Internet forum, we get questions from anywhere between newbie and expert users and we have no idea who is who. That's why we have to ask questions. If that insults what's left of your intelligence, so be it.
FWIW, I tested geofencing yesterday on my Pixel 6 and it worked as advertised. Why it doesn't on others is the issue. If we can nail it down to phone models, OS versions, etc. that would help. ALso, it's imperitive that you don't just post here but also open tickets with support.

Hi @ShayneS . Thanks for following up. My Arlo geofencing is working fine. It recognizes the change of location of my Android device and assigns the proper mode.

Seems to be "ok" . Slow sometimes. As in we can be home in the house before it detects us. Or we can be 10 minutes or more out of the zone. Before it detects we have left.

I had pretty much given up on any Arlo SW problems being fixed. To my surprise, sometime over the past month or so, several issues seem to have been addressed. Although I've had Arlo cameras and products for some time, I began installing the Home Security System last December. This is when everything went south for me. After having been previously pretty satisfied with the SW, I was very disappointed with the version 4.x SW releases. I would love to hear the history behind all of this!!
However, I wanted to relay the status of what I'm seeing now. My wife and I are both iPhone users and are using the Arlo app on our iPhones. I am happy to report on some successes!
1) We can finally give meaningful names our iPhones and delete the devices that are no longer valid. This was a major win.
2) Not sure it is related to #1 above, but the geofencing finally detects when we both leave, and when either of us returns. Previously, we always had to manually arm the system.
3) We can now scroll left and right to go from video to video. This feature had disappeared. Its return is a big win.
4) We can now delete bulk videos. We can select to delete a full days' worth or pick and choose within that day. Yup getting this feature back was much needed.
5) The overall goodness of the SW seems to be improving. I don't find as much weird random incorrect behavior as I had been seeing over the past 6-7 months.
In summary, I really appreciate the issues being addressed, and it seems like we are finally getting a useful system.
