These are the three modes that are built into the system.  By default

  • "Arm Away" arms all cameras
  • "Arm Home" arms all outdoor models (but not indoor models)
  • "Standby" disarms all cameras

These behaviors can be modified by going in the the routines and changing the rules for the cameras in each mode.  Note that if there is no rule for a camera in a mode, then that camera is disarmed when that mode is active.

The names suggest that "Arm Away" is appropriate when you are away from home, and "Arm Home" is appropriate when you are home.  I recommend setting up the modes that way if you can - not always possible, depending on the details of the camera schedules you want.

Thanks for breaking that down so clearly! The default behaviors make a lot more sense now, and it’s helpful to know that camera rules can be customized in each mode. I agree—using “Arm Away” for when you’re out and “Arm Home” for when you’re in is a simple and practical setup.
