You know I love the picture quality and sound but we have had this a week and have done everything in the world to get the firmware to update and it will not. We also do not have a microphone showing for use or a toggle button to request automatic updates. I do not know anything else to do but return our equipment and find something else .

My mic went away after awhile for some reason, I re installed the arlo app on my phone and it is back.

What firmware update are you having trouble with, the base station or the camera? Are you seeing any error messages?
For the camera, be sure the signal strength is good and the battery is charged as these are conditions that could causes the firmware update to fail.
