Hi,

Just bought Arlo Pro with VMB4500 base station, followed setup instructions and got stuck in device discovery step.

Base station itself shows solid blue light, so it's connected to the internet. Station is visible in nearby Wi-Fi networks. However, no luck with discovering the device itself.

Tried to discover with:

1) Mobile via Arlo app. Disabled mobile network while discovering. Changed router Wi-Fi settings from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz.

2) Desktop pc via my.arlo.com. It is directly connected to router with a patch cable.

Also, did a factory reset 3 times now.

What else can be done? Could this be a defective device? I'm really close to bringing it back to the store.

Thanks!

Thank you for the reply. No, I'm not using a VPN.
After multiple hours, did manage to solve the issue. The problem was in router/ modem settings.

Detailed description: My internet provider offers multiple services, including IPTV, fixed VOI. All these services technically can be supported by one modem. They are using Nokia G-240W-C (2 in 1, modem+router) right now, bet there were different brands as well following the same principle - 1 and 4 ports are for internet, 2 and 3 ports are for IPTV. Origial setup - desktop pc was connected to port no. 1, Arlo station to port no 4. Base station showed solid blue light, there was traffic seen modem control panel so I assumed everything there is like it should be. However, browsing throgh modem settings I noticed that port 1 and 4 are not exactly the same.
The differences were (attachment):
Port 1 - service checkmark on "INTERNET";
Port 2 - service checkmark on "TR-069".

So I swapped places to both ethernet cables in modem. After that, base station was discovered instantly.
Hopefully this could be of help to someone in the future.

TLDR; Swapped ethernet cables around in router/ modem. Connected base station to the first (of 4) port.

Are you using a VPN? If so, disable it. Have you reset the base? Hold the reset button for >10 seconds until the LED flashes amber. Let the base reboot and try again.
