- I recently updated my router to the Arlo Smart hub. I cannot get the Arlo pro VMC 4030 cameras to connect through the app any suggestions looking for help. I have tried sync the cameras to the new router that seems to go OK, but it does not show up on the app. When I hit add new device for the camera and hit the sync button on the camera. It cannot find the camera
please help

Newer routers are tending to use WPA3 instead of what Arlo requires, which is WPA2 (AES). Check your router settings under WiFi and check the encryption type. There may be a setting for WPA3 that includes compatibility with WPA2 you can try.

Sorry, but @jguerdat is wrong. Arlo Pro doesn't connect wirelessly to the router, but to the base station or SmartHub. WPA3 has nothing to do it with it. What you probably mean is that you can't connect the Pro to your newly bought SmartHub to show in the app, which is what the title suggests. What you mean by the router is the base station, which in effect is a router/access point, though it only works with Arlo devices. Anyway, enough of my digression.
So, there is a well known problem with that and it's documented on here. @StephenB or, better, @DannyBearAgain will be able to help - you can connect the camera to the smart hub without the app - just use both as if they were WPS devices (which is what in fact they are) - press the sync button on one and then on the other. Other than that, Arlo will encourage you to get a newer camera, which there is no need for, as, as they tell you, the Pro is EOL.
@jguerdat WPA3 is meant to be backwards compatible (so, WPA2, for example), though there was a well known issue with some devices.

There have been numerous complaints that suggest that the app is unable to add the legacy devices such as the pro/2.
Which app version?
Does the app have a library page or a feed page?
Are you using the app on a mobile device? Or via the web browser interface my.arlo.com?
Have you tried restoring the original base and adding cameras again?

Yer right! I totally missed the cameras being legacy ones.
