The old app no longer works and won’t switch the cams off., the new app does not link to my cams as they are designed to link to Netgear22 router is there a work around ? Everything workEd fine until the old app stopped working. Been satisfied with the system for over 15 years ran without problems.
Any help and advice would be highly appreciated

Finally

This issue where the new app will not link to the VMB3000 base station is now resolved the method of pressing the reset button does not work, you need to use a pin or paper clip and hold  the reset until you get amber lights showing. Wait until the base station has two green lights (the first two) then the new app will find and link to the base station, you can then add you cams.

Thx to all that came up with the various suggestions

There is no Netgear router that is branded as Netgear22.  Perhaps you are referring to a network name????

Can you tell us

  • the model of the base station if you have one
  • the model of the router if it has Arlo built in

You should be able to find the model on a label on the model/base.

Hello StephenB

Yes you are correct I submitted the Network SID

The Netgear Base Station is

Model VMB3000

Serial48E3577AA1DA7

After rebooting the Netgear base station the new app defaults over the old app and requires the Base Station and iPhone on the same network (which it is)

Then discovering the device fails.

I cannot log into the base station directly as it requires a password (which I don’t have)

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks and regards

That just means that this is an Arlo base station for Arlo Wire-Free Smart cameras that dates back to the Netgear era.

Is there a router in front of this thing somewhere?

Unless things were very different back then – these are ageing devices – you don't login into the base station.

Find support for your cameras in the document library here:

You can't log into the base station.

Check the status leds on your base, and see if they report any issue: https://kb.arlo.com/000039100/What-do-the-LEDs-on-my-Arlo-SmartHub-or-base-station-mean

Also browse to https://my.arlo.com with a PC browser, and and see if it shows your devices.

If they don't, you should contact support: https://www.arlo.com/en-us/support/contact.aspx

Try a search in this place.

Search Results – VMB3000

Dozens of hits.

Also try looking for Arlo Wire-Free cameras.

To get This thread thread back on track the issue is that the new app will not link to the VMB3000 base station. The base station works fine and the cams show on the Arlo website.
The issue is with the new app

If the phone is using a different account with guest access, then you will need to re-grant access to that account.

If that's not the issue (or if re-granting doesn't resolve it), then you should contact support.  https://www.arlo.com/en-us/support/contact.aspx
