Hi,

I have a camera that is pointed towards my backyard and it triggers an alarm every 30 seconds becasue of some leaves at the bottom of  the camera view.  I've tried the senisitivy settings and it makes no difference.  Is there a way overcome this?  It would be great if you could create a box or grid of the area that you want monitored for moviement so that you could eliiminate a leaf or branch if necessary.  Is there any suggestions other than moving the camera that you all have?  Thanks.

Tom

Are you changing sensitivity in your modes? Trying to use the Motion Detection test won't work because the setting isn't saved there - it's just for reference.

Yes, I've changed the sensitivity settings...in fact, I've put it all the way to 2 and it still arlarms just as much.  I'm not using the test feature...I'm using the motion sensitivity where you're supposed to adjust it.  Anyone else with ideas?

I'd try removing the camera from Settings, My Devices and resync. That may fix it. Otherwise, I think you'll need to do something about the leaves reflecting IR from the sun. That may need you to position the camera differently or try to make a mask so the sensors don't see the movement. I don't know exactly where the sensors are but there's a small rectangle in the middle of the lower half of the camera face which I suspect are the sensors. You could try a small piece of black plastic electrical tape in the relative area where you're getting the false triggers.

Note that you can change sensivity under camera settings, AND under mode -> camera motion settings.....

I dont know if it helps you, but i noticed this, if you change the settings to example 20 in camera settings, it remains on example 80 under mode -> camera motion settings.........

The "Adjust Motion Sensitivity" bar is available in the "Motion Detecttion Test" menu. The default us 50%. It lets me adjust the bar hogh or low, and run a test, which then flahes the cam, but there is nothing in the screen to save the setting. I dont know where the setting can be saved. I also want to know if the same setting pertains to all cams or are they set individually. Please help.

That is not a setting, that is for test purpes ONLY.

When you have found the disired sensivity at the motion test - you note the value, and set the value under mode -> camera motion settings from your test results.....

I'm having trouble finding "mode->camera motion settings"  on the iOS app or the web interface.  iOS app v2.42.   The path to set this actually more complex and confusing to access:

mode->select the Armed (click edit pencil) ->select the camea you want from "Rules" (click edit pencil)->Motion is detected (click edit pencil)-> drag the slider for motion sensitivity

Unfortunately, the Arlo Pro user manual isn't exactly correct on how to adjust camera sensitivity. You tap Mode which then shows you the BASE STATION, and not the cameras. Tap the Base Station, then tap the pencil icon from the Armed condition. NOW you will see the cameras you have associated with the base station. Tap the pencil icon next to the desired camera which takes you to the Rule Summary page for that camera. Next tap the pencil icon next to Detects Motion. This gets you to the Motion Settings page where you can use the slider to delect your desired sensitivity. Then tap BACK once, then SAVE. It is also on Rule Summary page, in the ALERTS section, that you can select whether or not you want to receive email alerts when motion is triggered.
