My house gets the internet via a wire that goes from a light pole to the house. So, it's kind of easy to cut the internet wire and have the Arlo Pro base station offline.

So simple question is: can we add a SIM card as a fallback to the Base Station? So that in case of being offline still works.

Also,  related question: if there's a blackout in the area, does the Base Station has some kind of internal or rechargable battery to at least work for some hours?

Thanks in advance

1) if you use the newer 4000 model base ( Pro or Pro2 ) there is a usb port for backup of the videos... any video from camera that goes to the cloud goes to the backup usb drive ( usu a speed stick ) if the interent goes out AND it was previously armed

2) If the ac power goes out for the base unit, all bets are off, it will not function... Due to this many use a UPS to power the base if local power goes out ( or if in a remote location )

Additionally, you can't add a SIM card to the base but there are routers available that have a fallback capability to 3/4G as long as your network (and base) is still powered.
