Any idea on how to stop getting notifications which fall outside of the activity zone which is set. I get about 60-70 a day of stuff outside of zone. I have tried literally everything I can think of. Smart Notifications, just put it on people and I still get them of the last second of a vehicle driving past. I have deleted and added the zone again and again. One of the biggest headaches is that its draining the battery rapidly having all these notifications . I have another camera on a shared drive of which activates when the neighbours go on the drive but this doesn't seem to drain the battery anywhere near as fast as my front camera. I subscribed to the plan so I can get the zones to reduce the amount of notifications but they just keep coming. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Without being funny, if you look back over many months or even a few years I think you will see that Arlo will never fix these issues. That is fact if all the previous posts are correct.
Arlo has lost touch with the technology I fear. They are in over their heads. All you need to do is look back in the posts as I have.

The solar panel doesn't charge enough to keep a busy area camera charged. I put it on a garbage area at a mhp with 30 or so notifications received a day There is probably a lot more activity that I don't get notified of because it isn't a person. My issue is also there are trees, on a windy day before I set it to detect only people it would go off all day long in the wind.

 Would zooming in cure this?

The solar panel is too weak to cure these issues FYI, way overpriced too.

I just installed 4 ultra 2 cameras. I too am having the notification outside the zone issue. Have tried eliminating the zone and re applying. No luck. Seems this is a highly touted feature. Other than this the cameras work great on battery power for me so far. Would really like to hear of a solution such as a firmware update or patch to correct,

Nope. Just does not work. Camera activates for any motion in its field of view even if it is outside of the activity zone. All changing the activity zone does is remove smart alerts. So now it just says motion instead of vehicle. After 18 months with Ultra I can honestly say they are overpriced POS.

Any more updates on this?

Have you tried removing > Re-adding the activity zones? You can also try and adjust the motion sensitivity.

I’ve tried deleting/re-adding activity zones many times. Nothing works. The support agent suggested I just move the camera somewhere with less motion. He asked me to go through the steps of deleting and re-adding the camera, and now after reading this thread I’m furious that I was asked to waste my time and effort on steps that would not fix a KNOWN ISSUE.

Arlo has no clue whats wrong or how to fix it and they dont appear to care. Ive called the Co, pinged the CEO, posted on FB. Most dont respond and when they do its the same BS troubleshooting steps. Do yourself a favor, finds another system and dump this trash. And make sure you tell everyone you can to stay far away from Arlo. They dont deserve your business, my business or anyones business.

Yup, agreed with above. I've moved onto Ring security cameras and this has become a secondary system. Unfortunate.

Anybody know a fix for this issue? It's been months with my cameras going off and sending notifications outside the activity zone.

They did have a fix a couple months ago and works fine here and it's really windy out today and no outside zone being received like before. Have you checked this link out.

So basically the support article tells us to point the camera elsewhere - or in other words - to negate the need for an activity zone altogether by manually excluding the area with unwanted motion.

Yeah, no.

Yeah, no.

Either way I am not getting notifications outside the zone and have have areas zoned out still within view. But adjusting does help.
