I purchased 3 Arlo Pro cameras in Nov 16. 2 work fine but one which is closest to the base station goes off line about once a week. I have to remove the battery and re sync it. It's becoming very annoying. Is there a permanent fix to this problem?

Reset the camera by pulling the battery, then replace.
Go to settings and use Remove Device, and bring it back as if new ( sync)( this resets the info in the base re cam)
Now swap the location with one of the other cameras and see if the issue continues in the new location.
If problem still exists at this point, contact Netgear Support
