We have set multiple actions when camera detect people, 1 siren, 2 recording, 3 notification.
But on multiple occassions, we heard siren but no recording nor notification, and there is no one in front of the camera.
We have adjusted the active zone to ignore any plants on screen, and has also decreased sensitivity. But this doesn't help with the problem. Is there any setting I should try before returning it?

I don't use the siren feature myself.  But I am thinking that the siren might go off even when the motion is out-of-zone.

I suggest removing the zone(s) as a test, and see if you still get no recording when the siren goes off.

Thanks for the suggestion.

But the zone is actually important for my camera's location, without it, it will get triggered by the leaves on one side, and on the other side it will get triggered by people on the street outside of our fence.

A camera that can't set zones is really not useful for us, if not using the zones is the only solution then we will have to return it =(

FWIW, an activity zone doesn't prevent recordings since the determination of what's in or out of the zone is done by the servers. That requires a recording to be made. The difference is that the servers can then delete the video so you never see it in your Feed. If you have a hub with local recordings enabled, the video will actually be present there but absent in the cloud.

For your initial issue, I suppose it could be possible that the siren is somehow NOT connected to zones at all. I don't know that to be true but...  @JamesC , @ShayneS , @BrookeN can you check into this for clarification?

Understood.  I suggested doing that as a test - I didn't say that you would leave the camera that way.  You could maybe move the camera to another spot temporarily, and then try setting a small activity zone, and walking into the field of view from the side (keeping well away from the zone).  Then see if the siren goes off.

We have done some testing when we first put it up, both with and without the zones.

When we test it's fine, having zones or not doesn't seem to make any difference.

When we test, the problem is that it only detect up to about 3 meters even when sensitivity is set to maximum, but that we can coupe with that by buying more cameras.

The siren proplem only happen once a while afterwards, around once every few hours. We have lower the sensivity (even tho it further decrease the detection distance) and this happen much less but still happens. We don't want to further lower the sensivity from the already very short detection distance. That's why we are hoping there is some other settings we missed. Any other ideas would be much appreciated!

After a lot more testing, I can confirm that whenever siren goes off, it will then fail to trigger video recording and notification.

It seems to unrelated to zones or anything othing settings.

And it happens to all my 4 cameras, so it's not that one of the camera is faulty, but the product itself is faulty.

With the following set up, on any of the cameras, it will only trigger siren.

Are you still seeing this same behavior?

If you turn off the siren in this rule, do you then get recordings?

i have set the siren volumn to lowest, and I have also contact support and they have refreshed something on their end, seems like the siren and recording can fire at the same time now, not sure which is the reason that makes it work tho.

Will test more over time and report to this post if it failed again.

I have let the development team know the behavior you are seeing, I will update the community as soon as possible.

I have this same problem with an indoor essentials camera- I have a USB extension cable hooked up to it that’s probably 12’ long. It’s the only one of my cameras that does that, but when the siren goes off it basically just locks up and I have to power cycle it. Not sure if this is what you have going on but thought I would throw that out there.

Other than that, all of my indoor essentials cameras give me siren alarms for no reason- I think it’s because there’s motion outside my activity areas. The motion wakes the camera up, triggers the siren, but since it’s outside the activity area i get no notification or recording, so I never even know which device triggered the siren.
