Have 2 5S cams.  One actively records during the day.  
One is idle and not active daily unless I activate it.

first battery last 2+ months before charging.

Second battery drains to 10% within 2 weeks yet is inactive.

 

both units are new and in use for about 5 months.

Cam with the drain problem has always been a problem.

I’m thinking the battery is defective.

Both units are on the same floor and close proximity to the WiFi point.

 

Anyone having the same battery problem and if so, did a new battery resolve the issue?

    I pulled the battery to rest the device.  Still monitoring the unit but it appears to have resolved the problem..I hope.

Try swapping the batteries, and see if the problem moves with the battery (or not).

Good idea. Will try. Should have thought of this but at my age the brain becomes unreliable😂

FYI, pulling the battery on a Pro 5s reboots the camera, but does not reset it.

 

But of course it did resolve the issue for you.

Yes…I know that.  Just resets the battery connection
