I have several pro 5 cameras….all of them have the newest firmware (1.040.26.2_56_6649b4f) that automatically updated on their own.  One of my Pro 5 cameras say a firmware update is needed (current firmware 1.040.27.5_55_b4f750a). I have tried 3 times to update….it’s says it’s updating but then just goes back to the same firmware and doesn’t update and say firmware needs to be updated.

Anyone  else having issues updating their pro 5 camera to the latest firmware?  All my pro 5 cameras are connected to the base station at this location.  All others did the auto firmware update except this one camera….

The current firmware version for Pro 5S 2K cameras is 1.040.27.5_55_b4f750a. A new firmware version is being deployed currently, but most users have not yet received it. If your camera has an update available but it's failing to update, it could be due to a connectivity or power issue. Make sure the battery is fully charged and temporarily bring the camera close to your base station or router to allow the firmware update to take place.

If you're still experiencing an issue, please send me a private message with the email address you use to log in to your Arlo account and I will investigate this further.

I will try the update with the camera closer to the base station.  The camera is 100% charged.

Here is what I see when it says a firmware update is available.

I have the camera right next to the Arlo base station and router/modem.  Tried the firmware update again and it didn’t update and still says new firmware available. (While attempting the update the camera was flashing blue and orange indicating it was working on the firmware update then it didn’t update the firmware)

After that my base station went offline (base station VMB4000r3).

Should I do a restart of the base station to get it back online?

Yes, try restarting the base and then I recommend waiting for the automatic update window to take place overnight.

If you're still experiencing the same issue tomorrow, please send my a private message with your email address and I will investigate further.

Ok I went back in the app to restart the base station and it was back online and the camera HAD the updated the firmware…yay…….so I guess it was fixed.  Maybe the base station was doing some kind of update?  So everything working now….it’s these weird random glitches that are frustrating but I find that sometimes it just best to give it some time before your start doing things to the camera….

thanks for your response James…..I really appreciate it

That same camera that I had issues with updating the firmware now is recording with mostly green. (See photo below)  The firmware is 1.040.26.2_56_6649b4f. (All of my pro 5 cameras connected to the base station have this as the current firmware).
You had stated that the latest firmware for the pro 5 cameras should be 1.040.27.5_55_b4f750a.  My cameras don’t have the newest firmware and don’t indicate that there is firmware available.

Arlo-help2,

The newest firmware is not yet available to all users and may take a week or so before your receive the update.

The green image distortion you're experiencing indicates an interference issue, likely at the cameras location. Try moving your camera temporarily to another location and test again to see if you experience the same behavior.

James,

This pro 5 camera inexplicably started working normally yesterday.  There is now NO distortion of any kind on either a live view or on videos that are motion activated.  Nothing changed as far as camera location or the firmware or any changes to the base station.  I really don’t understand why the recordings started being distorted on this pro 5 camera when all other pro 5 cameras were working normally.  But it’s been working right for the last day….

I have the same issue, and my Pro 5S never has a live view, (1) one of it says it required a firmware update, but after I click update, it keeps saying updating firmware, (2) the other one is never online "Your Arlo device appears offline".

The latest firmware version is 1.040.27.10_105_2477521.

After some while for waiting the update, it goes back to "Firmware update is available", again I need to click Update again. I did it over and over, but the camera still have no image.

2 of my Pro5S are not working, but my other older cameras Pro3, Ultra are working fine.

You might try to do a restart on that camera.  Go to the detail of the camera and do a “restart”.  The restart is down at the bottom.  You have the choice of restart or remove the camera.  Give it time for the camera to completely reboot and connect back up then try to do the firmware update and see if that will get it to update the firmware.  The firmware you noted is the firmware it should currently be.  I did not have an issue with my two pro 5 that are connected to wifi getting the firmware to update. (Note:  if connected directly to a base station the firmware automatically update all the cameras connected to the base station and happen without you having to do anything)
