I am requesting a feature that allows users to set a maximum battery charge threshold (e.g., 50% or 80%) for cameras that are permanently connected to an AC power source or solar panel.
The Problem:
Lithium-ion batteries experience accelerated wear and potential swelling when maintained at a 100% charge state for extended periods. Since the Arlo Pro 5S 2K requires a battery to be physically inserted to operate—even when on AC power—users cannot simply remove the battery to preserve its lifespan. Currently, the camera keeps the battery at 100% indefinitely, which will inevitably lead to premature battery failure.

Proposed Solution:
Add a toggle in the Device Settings called "Battery Health Mode" or "Stationary Power Mode."
Add a toggle in the Device Settings called "Battery Health Mode" or "Stationary Power Mode."
- When enabled, the camera would stop charging once the battery reaches a user-defined or pre-set limit (ideally 50-60% or 80%).
- The camera would then run off AC power, only drawing from the battery if the AC source is disconnected.
Benefits:
- Longevity: Significantly extends the physical life of the battery.
- Safety: Reduces the risk of battery swelling/bloating.
- Sustainability: Reduces the frequency of battery replacements and electronic waste

I recall an earlier discussion on this a few years ago.
Arlo cameras only charge the battery to 80% capacity to maximise operating life although the Arlo app's battery status says 100%.
The stand alone Arlo battery charger unit will charge the battery to the full 100% capacity so it not recommended to leave them on charge when they are fully charged.
