My Arlo Pro 5 S 2k cameras won’t stay online

Jlamproe,

This can often be a symptom of poor signal strength due to range or WiFi interference. What does the signal strength icon show for your cameras? If you temporarily bring the camera close to your router/SmartHub as a test, do you still experience the same behavior?

Some of mine don't either and signal strength is full signal.  Cameras are powered.  My question is do these cameras detect they are offline and try to re-sync and connect?  Do they do this repeatedly?  Do they reboot?  The problem is when you are 2000 miles away from the camera there is no other solution short of removing the battery and putting them on a smart plug and power cycle them.  Seems like we should not have to do this, but I do know when power cycling them they come back on line.  Can you provide some clarity what this camera does when it is offline?  There are no base stations only WIFI and other cameras have done this as well (all Pro 5s 2K cameras, Pro 4 have never done this).

Also, what is the purpose of the Restart Button when the camera is not online.  I can push the button, but does anything really happen?  I would think if the camera is offline the restart would be pointless and grayed out, or is there some secret way you are restarting the camera?

The cameras should keep attempting to reconnect but that can deplete the batteries quickly if unable to do so. Not that it helps now but if you bring a camera closer to the router does that make a difference?
