I have the most updated app and cameras. The new app has the Arm Away, Arm Home and Standby "Modes".

Is there are way to create a 4th mode? I'd like to be able to customize my modes a little more.

We’ve heard your feedback, and the development team is working hard to deliver a similar custom modes experience that legacy users have come to enjoy while maintaining all the new improvements and features included in the latest version of the Arlo Secure App. We will keep the community up to date as we approach the release of this highly anticipated feature.

Thank you all for your continued feedback in helping make the Arlo experience the best it can be!

I have seen NO additional functionality added to the crap app.  But they did notify us of a 50% increase in the monthly charge for Secure!  I have also just about abandon the app as well.  Will be replacing all cameras this year with products from a different company.  The worthless app plus the price increase is an insult to me and probably many others.

DON’T hold your breath on them enhancing the app. Not even a disable all mode which is basic…but they are a bunch of kids in a playpen!

I am on the same trajectory.  I paid for the year at the cheaper rate, during that time if the app is not improved to where we were before the "upgrade" then I will find a new system.  In the past I have recomended Arlo to others, now I cannot do that.  Hopefully they will hear the complaints.

I gave up. Just switched to Reolink. The doorbell and camera I bought easily connected to a local hub/storage which is why I went with Arlo in the first place. It also easily integrated with Home Assistant which was a painful process with Arlo, especially once they changed the interface. I'm still working on the controls and I haven't found the equivalent of "Modes" yet, but the interface with HA is so thorough I think I can easily set up what I want through there.

I have given you also.  The app had some changes but failed to rectify the issues mentioned on this and other forums.

Purchased TP Link Tapo C210 cameras and micro SD cards, no fees, great functions, tilt and pan and they integrate with Google Home Hub really well.

This is exactly what I am doing, keeping the cheaper rate for another year to look for better solutions, one thing for sure is I will not pay the increased rate, even if they fix the app it's just not worth it for what you get.

still suffering from ARLO's bugs with geofencing here, but must add that Reolink is a Chinese brand (something I have been avoiding for network/security gadgets)

Echoing many other comments. Please add the ability to create custom modes again. Why take that away? It was easy to use and very useful when you have a decent array of camera.

Just scrap the new app is better and enhance the old one. Even the automations only work sometimes so you never know which mode is running. Piece of 💩

Appreciate your reply.  First I’ve ever received from anyone in Arlo.  Support seems to be mismanaged when users are crying out.  Ever since the new app was released, myself and others have been left with a childish new app totally restricting how we secure our homes with your product.  The rollout of this poorly designed app makes me extremely concerned if Arlo is really a security company dedicated to its customer base or is it a free for all playpen exposing customers to failures with their security.  It has been many many months since people have been crying out.  No development responses so everyone is left in the dark.  As a former software engineer of 40 years I question how this new apps design ever got approval. Your company is a security company and not something to toy with.

i will be focusing on a total replacement of Arlo products this year.  I don’t have faith anymore and can’t risk my security on maybe a new version will come in a few months.  I need total security NOW!  And I ask…why raise prices for SECURE when your app doesn’t give us any security?  That was a slap in many people’s faces as they struggle with a flawed product.

One thing I learned in my career dealing with customers is LISTEN, RESPOND,  COMMUNICATE, DELIVER and never piss them off.  That is not happening on these forums.

Waiting another few months to resolve the security risks associated with this new app is ludicrous and only scares me even more.  Security must be fail safe and reliable!
Again thanks for my first response ever from Arlo.  Sadly I’ve lost trust in the company and will seek alternatives to secure my home and family.  All those $ wasted and now a price hike.  Just smh!

Local storage from feedback ( Base stadion mem card) still not working from feed. Same here. No more trust in this Company. Added other cameras around the house from different brand.

yes, "feed" side is buggy.  Go to Devices >> (hub) >> storage settings and wait for a while.

I agree.  I need more mode options. I cannot figure out a way to have just have my backyard cameras off and all my other cameras on.  This is userful when having backyard/patio/deck party but you still want the cameras on the front of the house active.  There is no schedule you can use for this, it must be turned on or off as needed.    Taking away our ability to create custom modes stinks and needs to be restored ASAP.

Just read all the other posts about this. I bought two doorbell gen 2 cameras last week before reading all of this.  I am going to return them and find another company.  I can't believe this nonsense has been going on for months now and there is no way to create custom modes.  Sucks that I have to spend all this money and replace everything but I have no problem doing to get the functionality I USED to have and the new intface does little to meet my needs.  There was nothing wrong with the way the modes and schedules  used to work.  Fix it!!!!!!!!!!

You can temporarily modify a mode to do this.

Although it is simpler to go into the camera settings of the backyard cameras, and turn them off before the party.

Seriously?  The original app had the ability to set up a separate mode. Simple..just select the custom mode when needed instead of all the constant manual switching of settings. The new app sucks and maybe you never really used the old app. Highly flexible compared to this new extremely limited piece of junk we have today.

This is a user-to-user forum, and I don't work for Arlo.

I'm just telling you what options you have with "Feed".  Clearly dropping custom modes was a big miss by Arlo.

FWIW, they have recognized that, and have announced that that are working to restore the functionality (perhaps done a bit differently???).
