Using an iPad app (latest version) . I opened the Arlo app this morning in order to view current camera views. There had been NO alerts during the overnight period. Every camera view (7 of them with a mix of Pro2 and Pro5) went to a “night” display, black and white, as though an alert had happened on all of them; every one for a time (upper left corner of image) stated “now” as though it had just happened, but it was daylight and the image was nighttime. 3 of these are connected to a hub and the others are wireless connections to the internet. This is the first time I’ve seen this happen in nearly 8 years of using Arlo cameras.

Can you send a screenshot of what you are seeing? Are you able to live stream when it is stating now?

Not sure whats going on but when my cameras capture a event watching it seems to trigger the camera to capture a screenshot for some reason but the time is out completely for that screenshot, also my firmware is not the same as listed for the Pro 5 release earlier in the year, this only stated happening recently on both cams. Firmware version 1.60.35.0_265e985aa. What is going on?

The same “event” happened this morning. All cameras went to a nighttime “view” although there were no alerts and I had not invoked a live view of any camera. I cannot send an accurate screenshot since I have since opened some of the cameras for a live view. I will try to capture a screenshot when it next occurs.
I am able to livestream when it shows “now” or any other period of time, such as “2 hrs”. After I have live-streamed, the time goes to “now” and doesn’t change again UNLESS an alert occurs. So, if I live-streamed 4 hours previously, the camera still shows “now” if no alert occurred during the time period.
As an interesting side note, there was thick fog in the area of the cameras last night, and the camera images of outside appeared to be foggy. Very strange.

So this is newer than the posted release table. I'm tagging @JamesC to call this to his attention.

Watching events seems to trigger camera
This sounds more like an app or cloud issue, as the recordings are not stored in the camera.
I've seen earlier posts on events being captured when people start livestreaming, but I don't recall this issue being reported. How often does this misbehave?

I am having trouble uploading the screenshot. I selected the photo icon on the list above; selected the photo; it appears to be loading, but then all I see is a white square, not the image.

Do they switch back to the correct view when you livestream (or when they trigger during the day)?
Are the cameras connected via a smarthub, or are they connected to your home wifi?

Ahhh, once you POST, then it shows the image. The difference in this image and ones I have seen before is that it updated in two passes. I opened the app today and all but a couple changed into a night shot. I took a screenshot, left the app, came back to the app and the others had also gone to a “night” view. I then saw two times rather than “now”; 3 minutes and 7 minutes. I took another screenshot and that is what I posted.

Yes, Stephen, they do give an accurate view when I livestream or an event triggers it.
Three of them are connected to a hub (Pro2) and the others are Wi-fi (Pro5S). They had all been working normally until a few days ago (date of first post in this thread).

GTK.
The cameras will "wake up" to check for updates every night. I am wondering if that is somehow triggering the shift to night vision.

The "Now" feature Is working as intended. As for the night and day time images, I will look into this further. I will update you as soon as possible.

Every time I open the app the images captured from say the night before get changed, so this afternoon 12:20pm UK time I open the app and the images in the widget and devices tabs changed to a older infrared only image taken without from days ago as I normally use the light for full colour and as a deterrent. The app says the old images are from now. This keeps happening and resetting has not changed the issue sadly. More worrying is images that are supposed to be deleted are showing and replacing actual recently taken images how is that possible when the app says I have no data in the cloud? The camera cannot keep different images from days or even a week ago surely! Logging in online shows the correct images so surely this is a cloud issue I would have thought?

@KKS-Col Can I get just a screenshot of one camera only that is displaying this behavior. Screenshot when thumbnail is dark and it shows Now and as you fires up the Arlo app in daytime.

It’s a bit hard as every day they are changing the only interface that works correctly is the web one. Also the screenshots are to big for the app on this forum when uploading.

Exactly the same problem as my app at this time. I have one showing 6h ago another showing 17 hours ago on my iPad M4 13" which correct but my iPhone 16 Pro shows two daylight pictures from 2 hours ago even though it captured a video last night as soon as I watched the video the main widgets turned to a display from yesterday which are meant to be deleted!

Embedded images have to be manually reviewed/approved before they are shown.

First dark screenshot is one camera that went to a nighttime image (no alerts, no saved cloud images) time shows “now”. This was when I first opened the app today (Aug 31, time is U.S. Mountain). I then live-streamed the same camera and took a screenshot. That is the second screenshot attached.

This morning (Sept. 4) there was a change in the images update. Opened the app, all cameras that are wi-fi flashed, changed the time to “now” but did not change the last image previously viewed. The cameras connected via a base station made no changes.
I left the app. Returned to app about 10 minutes later. This time the cameras on the base station flashed, displayed a night image and updated the time to “now”. The wi-fi cameras remained with the same image as before and the time had advanced to the minutes elapsed.

You are experiencing exactly the issue I’m experiencing except I cannot seem to get support to understand. They said something about turning off background at refresh (this did not help) and that the cameras have been poled too much by iOS. They said this is an iOS error, the thing is this has been going on for weeks and it was fine. I don’t know if a firmware or an app update has caused this but nothing’s fixing it and when viewing an event from the night before that should be the last image on the dashboard it isn’t and it keeps showing random images that have been deleted and they change to now and then will stay the same for show hours and then if you open the app sometimes it will show a night time image and say it’s now when they’re not because it’s daylight and they’re draining power rapidly as well I’m getting really fed up with this and not getting any answer and getting my cases continually closed even though I am sending information to support in the UK

You may as well use The other KKS-Col's images as they are exactly what I am seeing and after I tried to upload last time I was rate limited by Cloudflare and I do not wish to go though that again, just take it as exactly the same image issue.
