The replacement camera, a Pro 4, has failed due to water. It lasted about 9 months. I had silicone sealed the front edge of the camera before mounting it in the same location. That leaves the case release button as a likely port of entry for the water.

A few months ago this camera had a low battery notification and I disabled it and checked the solar panel. But the battery level didn't change. There was some corrosion between the solar cable contacts and I cleaned that, but still didn't charge. Opened the camera and it had water and the contacts were corroded.

Use the app to go to Settings, Support to see if official support can replace it.

Is the camera mounted upside down (charging port facing up)?

Is there a lot of rain at this location (or perhaps lots of wind during the rain)?

No it's mounted right side up just like the other Pro 4 cameras. The other cameras get the same rain and wind. This camera is pointed in a slightly down angle, maybe 10 degrees and is mounted about 3 feet above the ground and on a tree that isn't as wide as where the other cameras are mounted.

So not the way it's mounted.  How much rain is there?  (Or snow, if it is deep enough to reach the camera)?  Is it possible that water is running down the solar cable into the port?

There are silicone skins you can get - no idea if they will help though, since they leave the charging port uncovered..

Around 32 inches of precipitation in the past 180 days and snow up to 12 inches deep from one storm. The charge cable ran downward from the camera but isn't used now because the internal connections are too corroded to  conduct.

I think that it's the case release button that allows the rain to enter the case from the wind.
