Can anybody tell me how to get the three months free subscription when I bought the thing or how to connect the freaking cameras before I smash them

You should have been automatically opted in when you installed the cameras.  Are you in a country where Arlo offers subscriptions?

Note the trial length varies - I believe that it is now one month (though some cameras in stock likely still have three).
