Pro 4XL lack of ping with notifications.

My program has ceased to issue a ping along with the pop up notification when motion is detected.

How do I reestablish the ping?

Is the "ping" the notification sound? If so, check the phone's settings for the app. Click on Notifications and then Notifications again (NOT the slider) and set up the notification sound.
