This new update is complete garbage. I wish that I had never done it. The previous app was user friendly and easy to use. Whoever designed this update should be looking for a new job… same with the people that tested and approved it. I will be cancelling my subscription and switching to something else if changes are not made very soon. Listen to the people who pay for this product which is now awful to use.

Just checking in, in March 2026 to say that this post still holds true. The old app seemed as though it was designed for anyone, regardless of technical ability. This "new" app fails on every front : the interface is redundant, the setup is complicated, and rarely does the feed actually show anything after getting an alert. My wife has completely given up on even checking the app to view alerts, trying to arm / disarm (standby?) .. it's just a waste of time. I mostly just ignore it as well, because trying to use it just leads to frustration.
A shame too, classic case of a corporation changing for the sake of change. Nothing wrong with the old app, worked perfect and made actual sense.
Will be replacing these this year with something else. Wasted investment. Thanks Arlo!

The feed may not be showing if you and your wife are on different user interfaces. Can you let me know if you are seeing library or feed and if your wife is seeing library or feed?

We are both on the current interface. I had to force her upgrade on her phone using the method of "installing" on of the latest gen cameras, after I unfortunately took the bait and upgraded on mine. Had I known how frustrating it was going to be, Id have never done it.

I do see that they are all on the same interface now. Is your wife now able to view the cameras? Are you still seeing the same behavior?

Getting tired of waiting...
This "update" is total garbage and Arlo knows it. To be fair, the previous version wasn't all that great either, but at least you could turn on and off cameras at scheduled times (klunky, but it worked) and didn't need to look for help outside the app and then needing to go to different sections and tie things together. Are you kidding me?! Do you guys even use your own stuff? Any breathing product manager would have canceled this before you even started coding.
I was bothered when one of your previous updates required an Arlo charger - after I threatened a class action lawsuit you backed it out. At this point I'm done. I've bought 9 Arlo cameras and I'll replace with something else.

The new app is so bad that I'm considering switching to a different system. The Mode feature is gone, I can't figure out how to access the custom settings I had made and used for many years. Complete BS.
This is Arlo's "New Coke," and it will end up in textbooks as one of the great corporare "Don't fix what's not broken" blunders. Go back to the original. I can't live with this abomination of a once great camera app.

Custom modes is not quite available for all users as of today. However, they will be available to all Arlo users in the near future.

Near future? I can't add to what's already been said about this disfunctional app. I have had Arlo camera's for years, but this is the final straw. The previous app easily allowed you to add a custom time frame for camera activation. It was simple. Select a individual camera to Arm, Disarm, Schedule. At $19.99 a month Arlo has decided to drive away customers to a different manufacturer. This new app update showed up on my phone just a month ago. What a disaster.

Thanks Brooke.
In the post you're referring to, James is raving about custom modes being a new feature. I think this requires clarification: it's not a new feature - it was already present in the old app, but for some unknown reason, the feature became unavailable on the new app.
So, James should really be saying that the custom mode feature is back, rather than that it's a new feature. The reference to 'new feature' implies development and progress, and at the moment, that's not the case here.
