I have three VMC4041P cameras, 2 of them in the front of my home. One detects vehicles only when they enter my carport (due to obstructions) but the one I have an issue with only detects a vehicle when motion is detected and a vehicle passes on the road beyond my driveway. I have disabled Vehicle notifications and the camera it's self and re-enabled them, also removed and reinstalled the battery after 20 seconds with no change.

Any other ideas of help. Chat support has not been very helpful.

Are you saying that the camera is not triggering when the vehicle enters the field of view?  If so, how far away is the camera from the vehicle?

Or are you saying that the camera is triggering, but the recording and notification are not being correctly classified?

It does not detect vehicles when they come into the field of view. Camera is less than 50ft from where the vehicle comes to a stop. Never detects it. The other camera at the other door which has a somewhat blocked view detects the vehicle up until today.

Also all cameras misidentify animals as motion, except when I turn on notifications for animals which are too frequent.

Note Arlo says the Pro 4 can detect motion up to 25 feet.  It sounds like the camera is farther away than that.

That said, I've found my cameras will detect vehicles that are further away, though not that reliably.

Is the vehicle driving directly towards the camera?  Motion detection is most sensitive across the field of view, and it is more sensitive at the bottom of the field of view than the top.  If the vehicle is being parked at the top of the field of view, you might try inverting the camera (also using the invert control in the app), and see if that helps.

Well, it used to work every time my vehicle pulled. It stopped working when animals on all three cameras started detecting them as motion.
