Settings are to detect person motion only but still receive notifications for animals and other movements (i.e., trees moving due to wind). The latter two continue to drain battery quicker than if only people motion was detected.

All motion will be detected and analyzed, same with activity zones, you should only get notified about the ones that interest you. None of these help with battery life. Best way is to try and reposition the camera or remove whatever is triggering it .
