I recently acquired an Arlo Pro 4 system with three cameras. My WiFi router is directly connected to them. I'm missing a Base Station Hub. They performed reasonably well, with the exception of losing connection and going off line far too frequently. It all started once Arlo updated his firmware. None of my cameras would update their firmware. For the most part, they functioned properly, however they wouldn't update. So, after some sluggish customer service and poor technical help, they consented to send me a new camera. It was able to connect and update without any problems. They've sent me two more replacements since then. The geofencing, on the other hand, was not working.

Losing connect and going offline frequently is often a symptom of WiFi interference or poor signal strength due to range. Poor connectivity could also be the reason firmware could not be updated. If you continue to experience these symptoms, try relocating the camera temporarily to a new location and test to see if you still experience the same behavior.
