Hi,

I live in an area that has very poor internet service. Does the Arlo Pro 4 have the option to connect to the internet with a wire?

and

Can it download video to a hard drive?

Thank you,

There are two ways to connect the Pro 4 - one is to connect it to your home WiFi, the second way it to connect it to a smarthub (using a closed wifi).  Either way, the Pro 4 is using wifi - but the smarthub does connect to your router over ethernet.

The smarthub also supports local storage.

However, the system is built around a cloud service, so you will need internet.  There is one option (the Arlo Go 2) that uses cellular - which of course requires you to pay for a data plan as well as the Arlo subscription.  But it might be an option to consider if your internet isn't up to the task.
