You are a life saver. Apparently my account was the "old version" just like you said. I upgraded my account and Bam. My wife can see our cameras!

Thank you!

As you found, you can't do that.  The devices can only be added to the primary account (which is your husband's I think).

First make sure the cameras are all in that account.  Click on the "create account" link in the email on a PC (not the phone).  That will open the browser to my.arlo.com.  From there, log into your existing account.

Once done, check that the invite shows up as "accepted" in your husband's account.

There is one other step that might be needed (migrating your husband's account to the new "Feed" experience).  That isn't always needed, so post back if you can't see the cameras after the invite shows up as "accepted", so we can walk you through it.

Does the invite show up as accepted in your husband's account??

As I said there could be another step needed, but we should confirm that the invite is identified as accepted first.

Ok.  Then you need to migrate your husband's account to the new "Feed" experience.

Go to "add device" in his account, and select either a Pro 5s camera or the home security system.  When you get the the QR code step, cancel the add device (since you don't actually own it).  That process should migrate the account to "Feed".  After that, you should see the cameras in your account.

We need more details than that. What doesn't work? All details are needed - what was tried and what was seen?

I just figured out what you meant by your solution after an entire year plus of having to share my actual primary login for my wife to see activity on the cameras through the app.

  • I could not understand why her app looked different then mine.
  • Why not just update the app all the way around and be done with it. SO MUCH FRUSTRATION!

No offense but this is the is the most ass backward way to get the feed to show up in an account that the primary user has shared with a friend or family member.

  • Nevermind the fact that I have to pretend to add a camera to get a notification about opting into the updated App feed! What?!
  • I shutter to think how many people have given up on this. I just so happened to be annoyed enough at this hour to do a deep dive Google search.

There's lots of reasons for not immediately forcing the new UI on everyone, including Arlo figuring out what's broken, what needs to be changed and what needs to be added. There's also a big difference in modes with the new UI supporting only the default 3 and not allowing custom modes to be added. And then there's the training and exploring that needs to happen with the switch since it's such a complete change.

The change will be forced on everyone at some point and rest assured that will create a support storm bigger than the EOL announcements for older cameras that happened earlier this year.

I don't work for Arlo, so none taken.

FWIW, I agree with you.

Can you please explain why my wife cannot access door bell? I tried everything what you already said, she only gets notifications?

Does your account show "Feed" and Dashboard"?  Or does it show "Library"?

What about hers?

How do you upgrade your account? Do you mean subscribe to a plan? I already have subscribed to a plan but my wife still cannot see my devices. Any advice please?

I pay for one of the Arlo devices. I don’t see Feed and Dashboard in my iOS app.
I have shared my devices giving admin access with my wife. Her iOS app shows both Feed and Dashboard but she cannot see any devices I shared.
What am I doing wrong?
