The old app worked great with geofencing, it would not arm unless every device left the area. Now it always arms if just 1 person leaves. My system is configuration is the following: anyone arrives> standby, everyone leaves> arm away

They are both set to always enabled and I have made sure that both my devices are setup correctly with always allowing precise location, notifications and do not have battery saver on. Its so frustrating because the old app worked great and the new one is so bad and we were forced to switch when we added the new cameras.

More info there is 1 iphone and 1 android phone used for geofencing, I have it set to the largest area and no other automations except for the geofencing ones.

    Hi,

Can you try utilizing this setup for your schedules with the Arrive/Leave feature and let me know the results?

    1. Select Routines > Automations > Select the (+) to create the desired schedules (When created, schedules will be listed under the Schedules section)

    2. Create and enable the Arrive automation under > Select Automations > Select the (+) > Add Action > Change Mode > Select Standby > Next > Add an Action > Enable/Disable an Automation > Select the desired schedule > Next > Select Enable > Next

    3.  Create and enable the Leave automation under > Select Automations > Select the (+) > Add Action > Change Mode > Select Arm Away > Next > Add an Action > Enable/Disable an Automation > Select the desired schedule > Next > Select Disable > Next  > Save

When completed you should see your options listed under the Arrive/Leave section under Automations

    Thank you

thanks for the good summary mate!  What an ideal world it was!  So cameras are either clustered (hubbed) or individuals, each cluster/individual is associated with a weekly schedule which can be overriden by geofencing 👍

No wonder people are yelling after the switch.

Judging from what you described, I agree with your "ideal" approach, which provides feature of grouping cameras for easier schedule-based control.  Even if they were to keep "library", I doubt if ARLO wants to have this feature, which competes directly with a $marthub 😉

Curious ... why do you think ARLO is moving away from "library" to "feed"?  I don't even see a lower operating cost for ARLO, associated with the new design.

First, although I think Arlo missed the mark in many respects with "Feed", I don't think "Library" was as wonderful as many here apparently do.  So I do think they needed to improve it, but unfortunately "Feed" didn't really do that.  In some areas it is better, but in others it is worse.

Their home security system's keypad was built around "Feed", and I think location-wide modes are in fact the right design for a security system.  FWIW, at least one of Arlo's competitors uses three system modes in a similar way.

I just tried the above link and it worked fine here. It's getting on to a day later so try again.

the link initially brings you to another forum message, which is another canned community message repeating "yes yes yes we hear you".  That community message has a further link to the Secure App which shows the following for just 1 second literaly:

Capture.PNG

It then jumps to another screen which is then selling ARLO products in general:

Capture 2.PNG

Basically nothing here.

Which is exactly what @jguerdat was trying to link in.

The second page gives an overview of how "feed" is organized - not useful for you, but I think would give folks running "Library" some useful information on how it is organized.  Not sure why it "jumped" for you - it is not doing that for me.

I agree with you and even though I have never used "library", I find the user experience with "feed" intuitive --- well, if properly implemented, and with more custom modes.  I agree with the idea behind migration from "library" to "feed", that users should not think about individual cameras, but different real-life scenarios.  Moving on --- this is my user experience suggestion --- since modes are just configurable modes, when there are more custom modes available in the future (hopefully), these modes should no longer be called ARM AWAY/ ARM HOME/ STANDBY.  Rather, they should carry names like "Mom home during day", "Sleep time", "All away", "Visitors around" .... with mode colours again customizable if not avatar/pic-based.

Well, just dreaming here.  Let's hope ARLO fix their mess first.

"Basically nothing there".

Now I understand why.  Just that it was trying to jump to the australian page for me.  Original page was for US only.
