I have Arlo Pro4 cameras, but it won't let me choose that from the "model" section of this form.

Anyway - I have my cameras set up to use Geofencing - but sometimes they don't record when I'm not there.  How do I fix this?

A maintenance person went into my apartment yesterday and my cameras didn't pick him up at all.  Why?  And sometimes my son comes home from school and the camera doesn't detect him coming in either - I have the camera located right inside my front door - so it should pick up anyone entering.

Try repositioning the camera so that motion is side to side across the FOV rather than right at the camera.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I don't understand what that means.

The camera looks at the front door - the door swings open across the field of view. It is hallway - so the motion of the door opening go across the whole field of view.

That should be ok then.

I suggest disabling geofencing for now, and see if you then get all the recordings.  You can set up a schedule if your hours away from home are fairly regular - or simply arm/disarm the camera from the app.

This is just a test, to help diagnose whether the issue is with the motion detection/recording itself, or whether the problem is that geofencing isn't working right.

Thanks, I disabled the geofencing yesterday and today and caught all of the motion on camera.  So I don't think it is the camera - I think it is the geofencing that is having a problem.  How do I fix this - the whole reason I purchased these cameras is for the geofencing so that I don't have to turn the cameras on and off all the time.

There is some troubleshooting here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062271/Why-isn-t-the-Geofencing-mode-working

Do you have an iPhone or Android phone?  If you have an iPhone, then see if there is a newer iOS version available for your phone, and update it if there is.

I made sure everything was up to date (it was) and have been leaving the geofencing on - and it seems to be working for now - but I don't trust it and won't always know if I miss something.  I just happened to "know" last week that maintenance was going in my apartment.  But the purpose of the cameras is to make sure nothing happens that I don't "know" about. This week they have caught all of the "expected" occurrences.  Nothing changed though.  I'll keep an eye on it and post again if I start noticing problems.
