I purchased this camera to replace an older unit that was damaged by harsh weather conditions. Namely beach sand. Blowing sand ruined the lens of the camera.
1. Is my old camera serviceable?
2. is there a protective cover available for my new camera. Something disposable and cheaper than a new camera?

Sorry to say there is no repair service available…
There are covers but they don’t protect the lens.
As to the sand, if the lens was damaged, then putting the camera in a container ( home made or bought) is the only way to prevent it happening again.
Down side is glass stops IR so that’s NG, maybe some clear plastic.

How bad is the lens? I'm not sure if it's a glass or plastic lens but maybe a haze removal kit for headlights may help if you're careful.
