I recently bought a Arlo Pro 4 XL bundle from Costco, but came with zero instruction.
- The 3 cameras will be installed on my rental property, and connected to my tenant's internet wifi network.
- Do I need to install the provided wifi SmartHub if I'm going to pay for their month cloud service?
- In short, is the SmartHub only required if I want to connect an external hard-drive onsite to store my recordings- as this makes my install much easier if not required.

No. You can just set it aside. I'd keep it for a bit, just to be certain.
You'll want to set up a friend account for the tenant to use:

If the tenant uses the main account, then they will be able to see the info of that credit card that you use for payment.
