I currently have an old original Arlo Wireless camera setup with 4 cameras that serves my purposes fine. No subscription fees and does what I need it to so long as I keep feeding the cameras batteries. We have 1 spot where we'd like to add 1 more camera - but I doubt an original Arlo camera (there are some "new" ones on Ebay) would connect with the VMB3000 base station from the location we want to put it. So my thought was maybe I could just buy a single Arlo Pro 4 (even if I need to pay for a subscription for it) that connects to our wireless without the need of a base station. Question is - would I be able to add the Pro 4 to my Arlo app for monitoring it - and would this even work? Would I be further ahead to just get a complete new 5 camera Pro 4 set up?

While a Pro 4 can't connect to your VMB3000, it can connect to your home wifi (assuming it reaches the desired location). You can add it to your account, and purchase a single camera Arlo Secure subscription for it. That wil ln not affect the 7-day free cloud storage you have with your original cameras.

Thank you for the reply! Can the Pro 4 be added to the Arlo app so we can monitor it from our iPhones?

Yes - as I said earlier it can be added to your existing account (so it will show up in the app and on my.arlo.com).
If you use scheduling you will need to set up a separate schedule for the Pro 4, since it is an independent camera that is not on your base.
