I have had my Arlo system for quite some time.  I have always enjoyed my four cameras when they alert and then I can view the cloud recordings where ever I may be.  I have never had a subscription.  I enjoyed my system so much, I then purchased a video doorbell with chime and a flood light above the garage.  After installing these two, I no longer get the recordings.  I cant believe I chose to get an Arlo doorbell and floodlight now instead of a Ring system.  Didnt know I would be punished for selecting to stay with Arlo.

Oh, and what is this wonder customer service where you absolutely cannot speak to a person?  Im seriously having doubts about Arlo lately

Anyone else have this problem?  Better yet, is there a solution?

thanks!

The free 7-day cloud storage you enjoy with the legacy cameras has always had a limit of 5 unsubscribed cameras per account.  When you added the video doorbell and floodlight, you had 6 cameras.  So when both trial subscriptions expired, you lost all video recordings.

There are several paths you could take.

One (the simplest and also the best experience) is to just get a multi-camera Arlo Secure subscription.  That will restore all the functionality you had before, and give you some additional features for your old cameras.

Another is to set up a second Arlo account.  Remove the doorbell and floodlight from your current account, and add them back to the new one.  Then share the old cameras to the new account (and vice versa).  You'd get recordings for the old cameras, but not the floodlight or the doorbell.  This process would require you to migrate to the new "Feed" user interface - follow up if you want more information on that aspect.

A third avenue is to purchase a VMB4540 or VMB5000 smarthub, and move all your cameras (including the doorbell and floodlight) to the new smarthub.  Then use the direct access to local storage feature on the smarthub to access the local recordings.  The user experience (IMO) isn't great, but there are other folks here who use that feature instead of going with a paid subscription.  If you are interested in this, follow up so we can give you more info on the limitations/caveats.
