Which camera? The VMC3030 in your title, or the Pro 3 (which is the forum area you choose)? Or something else?
The VMC3030 is the one with 4 CR123 batteries. It was sold with 7-days of free cloud storage, and Arlo still provides that. So no subscription is needed. It's also a quite old camera, and goes end-of-life very soon. Arlo says they will provide security updates for another year, and that the 7-day storage will continue indefinitely.
The Pro 3 camera is a 2K camera with a square lithium rechargable battery. It requires a subscription for cloud storage, so you'd see no recordings in the app (or browser) if you pair it with a VMB4000 base.
