Hi!
Is there any reason to upgrade the base station i have the first version. I have read a few posts about that new cameras and devices are compatible with old stations. I would like to have the possibility to hear sound, but also buy new models when adding devices.
Thks for any help on this.
Regards
Elis.

The 3000 base you have is the oldest....
Biggest diff between it and the newer ( including starting with the 4000 model ) are the possibility of using the USB backup for videos that go to the cloud ( also go to the backup )....also a bit more internal memory and speed.
Depending on what cameras you are looking to buy in future would prob determine the base.... If you go with a 5000 and an Ultra just know that all prev cameras will work. ( btw, base and camera combo are usu cheaper than the individual unit )
There is a list of what newer cameras work to the older model bases
(but I like the 4000 as it also has a siren built into it and it is loud. The 4000 will work with the arlo, pro, pro2 cameras and some newer.... and I use a 5000 on the Ultras )
As to audio, the audio is a product of the camera not the base .... so a Pro2 camera even on your old base will have audio.
