So I just got my system last week, and am trying to set up today. The smart hub is connected and that went okay, but the system came w/very little in the way of instructions. Using the App to try to set up the cameras (I have 4). But it won't let me go thru each camera in succession. Even when I go to a different camera, put the battery in, get it to blink blue and name it, the system goes back and renames the FIRST camera, not the one I'm currently trying to name. So I have essentially "re-named" the one camera umpteen times. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a system error? I've been on hold for the chat line for an HOUR, and the same time for a live person on the phone.  I hope this is not indicative of the level of support I can expect from Arlo. Any help or suggestions from the tech community are appreciated, since Arlo not helping.

thanks, Alliecat.

Alliecat,

Try rebooting your SmartHub before attempting to sync another camera. Do you still experience the same behavior?

Thanks James. Got that worked out.

Here's another question. My wifi signal is weak for the cameras that are farther from the house. I wanted to get a wifi booster. Should I get that from my ISP? or someplace else?

I tried to post this question on the general message board, but somehow could not.

If you can answer thanks, but if not, thanks anyway.

What you need is an extender that has a LAN that you can plug another hub into.

An extender on its own is no good. Your Arlo cameras cannot work with its wifi.

So you need a hub and an extender.

ISPs rarely have a large range of devices. Your best bet might be to look for a wifi extender that is known to play nicely with your current router.  Many people like to stick to the same brand. It is easier to manage things that at least try to have common interface.
