The supplied magnetic charging cable is not long enough for me. Will it work if I insert a usb extension cable?

Is this for indoors or out? The outdoor supply has a 25 foot cable. Indoors, a USB extension cable should work but get a quality one with larger wire gauge to minimize voltage drop over the longer distance.
