I have already turned off notifications for animals. I need to have my camera stop recording animals but keep recording humans. My dogs are constantly making my cameras record video clips and the batteries in my cameras last less than two weeks. This should be an easy software fix but will help many Arlo customers.

Unfortunately not.  The classification is done in the Arlo Cloud, not by the camera.  They could fairly easily supress the recording, but that wouldn't improve your battery life (as the camera would be doing the same amount of streaming).

You could try lowering the motion sensitivity (looking for a smallest threshold that detects people reliably).

Sometimes inverting the camera can help (plus setting the flip 180 degrees setting in the video settings).  The camera is more sensitive to motion at the bottom of the field of view than the top, and inverting it will change that to the top.

If the issue is primarily battery life, then you might consider getting the XL upgrade kit.
