Arlo support Team Charging over $100 yr to update firmware software!

I recently purchased Pro 3 and received an error stating it was off-line, I call technical support and they strongly pushed/suggested that I pay over $100 for a new firmware update. It was obvious they were reading from the script and never deviate from the script. Not paying attention to any logic. The customer service sucked. I was previously a happy owner of the Arlo 2, and decided to upgrade to the 3. If this is not resolved immediately, I will be returning the Arlo 3, because I have no desire to pay an additional $100 per year for firmware that should be free. I will just go and purchase a ring instead.

Not sure who you called but seems you googled and called a scam number. There have been other post for the same. They do not charge for updates or support. Even so your pro3 would be under warranty if as you said you recently purchased.
