I added 3 pro3 cameras to my existing pro 2 setup with a new base station but all three Pro3 cameras do not record.

I have recording setup to local storage and I tried connecting the cameras to my existing pro2 base station and to the new pro3 base station and still have the same result.

I would note that I also added 2 Ultra2 cameras so it seems that all feed is storing to cloud despite the setting inside base station being to record locally.

Any help would be appreciated.

WHat base or SmartHub are the cameras connected to? What is shown when you check Settings, Devices (or Settings, Home, Devices if you use Feed to view recordings rather than Library) when you select the base or hub and then Storage Settings? Is the drive at least 16GB and has been formatted to FAT32 using the app and base/hub to format the drive?

They are connected to base station VMB4000r3.

The Pro 2 and Ultra 2 cameras are all recording fine but the Pro3 cameras are not recording and not available in the feed.

Storage settings is set to record locally, best local recording and overwrite automatically. It shows Dual drive with status ready. When I click on dual drive I see storage status as good, available storage is 810GB used of 920GB. Best local recording on and overwrite automatically on.

The available storage seems way too high as the USB drive that I have in it is only 1GB. This tells me that it is not recording to the USB drive.

When I click on feed, it shows all the recordings under cloud and nothing under local but I don't have a way to change that.

The VMB4000 supports local recording but does NOT support playback.  Only the two smarthubs (VMB4540 and VMB5000) support direct access to local storage.

All the recordings you are seeing in the app are stored in the Arlo Cloud.  The Pro 2 cameras were sold with 7 days of free cloud storage.  The Ultra and Pro 3 were not, so the Ultra must still be in the trial subscription.

But I've had the pro2 cameras connectd to VMB4000r3 for 3 years and been recording and playing back without any problem. Once I connected the Ultra and Pro3 cameras, all my recording went to the cloud and Pro3 cameras no longer record.

Those recordings were in the Arlo Cloud, not local.  As I said before, the Pro 2 cameras were sold with free 7-day cloud recording.

If you doubt, just remove the storage from the base.  You'll still see recordings from the Pro 2 cameras in the app, and you will be able to make new ones.

I removed the USB storage from the base and plugged it into my computer and all the recordings were on it.

Motion triggered recordings from the Pro 2 cameras are stored both on the base and in the cloud, so that is expected.  But as I said, the VMB4000 has no playback capability, and all the recordings you see in the app (and my.arlo.com) are in the Arlo cloud.

Did you also make a manual recording from a Pro 2 camera when the storage was removed?  You'll find that recording will be saved in the cloud, even though there is no storage connected to the camera.

ok thanks but the issue still is that my Pro3 cameras are not recording locally and I am not able to playback anything. they all show there are no events for this day.

I have 2 of them plugged into base station VMB4000 on into base station VMB4540 and all three have the same behaviour and show "There are no events for this day".

To summarize the issue.

When I select the Pro2 cameras, they all show the recordings for the day and I am able to playback any video.

When I select the Pro3 cameras or my arlo Ultra 2 cameras that are connected to either VMB4000 or VMB4540 they all show "There are no events for this day" the base stations being setup to record locally and view Recordings being enabled.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you see "Library" in your app menu?  Or do you instead see "Feed" and "Dashboard"?

If you see "Feed", try going to the devices page and selecting the VMB4540.  Then navigate into "Storage settings".  You should see the local recordings on that screen.
