Ive seen ALOT of people ask this but its always marked "solved" even thought it is not.  I have a camera outside on a solar panel.  But the dogs set it off so often that the amount of recording it does reduces the battery life more quickly than the solar power charges it.  The camera does a pretty good job categorizing "animal" footage.  since this is the case how hard could it be to update the software to give users the ability to not record these?  I understand there is already the ability to turn off notifications by category.  Arlo, please take the day and add this feature.  your users are begging for it.

Doing this won't help your battery life issue.  The classification is done in the Arlo cloud - not by the camera.  It's done after the camera detects the motion and streams the video with the dogs.  The power has already been used in the camera.

Similarly for the activity zones - they do supress recordings, but they do not improve battery life.
