I have an amazon firetable 10hd (11 generation) I can no longer open the arlo app. I get a message that I need to upgrade app. I'm unable to upgrade the app. I tried uninstalling the app & reinstalling it. It does not upgrade. I checked with Amazon, they said they do not have the newest arlo app version and suggested that the arlo app developer dept should be the one to get the information sent to Amazon with the new version. I don't have the subscription with arlo so I can't contact them. I'd like to know if others with amazon firetablet is able to open the arlo app and if so how did they upgrade it to the newest version. thanks

Why would you make it not compatible with Amazon Fire tablets with no warning? I would have to buy a new iOS or Android device for my cameras to function now. Is there a way to reverse this decision as it’s pretty disruptive.
I agree it is unfortunate.
It is possible to side-load the google play store on the tablet. So you could try that, and then download the Android app and see if it works.

Arlo needs to push an update to the app in Amazon. Not being able to use software with the latest app is not right. Please find a resolution for this update so it will work on Amazon Fire HD.

Having the Arlo app unavailable to use on an Amazon Fire HD tablet is unacceptable. Your support group needs to fix this promptly, with no exceptions.

To reply to your message; unfortunately, Arlo is no longer supporting the Arlo app on Amazon tablet per other message so you can disregard this message that I sent. It's very unfortunate that I no longer can view my Arlo security cameras on my tablet.

I am having the same issue. Arlo will not help unless a majority of their customers complain over a significant amount of time unfortunately.

Has anyone had any luck with this? How does one "side-load the google playstore"?

Not something I've done (since I don't have any Fire Tablets). But something you can google...
No idea if the standard Arlo App will work on the tablet - so post back if that works for you.

Anyone with an Amazon device that is trying to update the Arlo app should read this:

Yes! This worked for my Fire HD 10 (13th Gen)! I can view my cameras and base station.
The download did not work for my Fire HD 10 (7th Gen).
Thank you very much!

I'm surprised it works. Arlo app is no longer available in the amazon app store on my 11 generation fire tablet. The internet also shows that Arlo is not supporting amazon fire tablets anymore. Thanks for your information.

@Kidzn2terri was saying that side-loading the google (Android) play store and installing the app from the there worked.

Hi,
I actually, after 3 different you tube videos, I found one I could follow and get play store installed on my amazon tablet. I then downloaded the arlo app and it works. Here's the video website; www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhq8qCuBJlc
if you want to try it. good luck!

Great! I thought the man that did the video was really good at explaining the steps. I'm keeping his video as a "favorite" in case I need it again.

Are there any plans to hire competent coders to port the app to Fire tablet again?
Is management aware that there aren't competent coders?
Jeebus.

That is true for all mobile browsers, not just the Fire tablets.

That's pretty broken. Any idea when Arlo may fix that, or the Kindle app?

I think this may actually be a Fire thing, not Arlo. Not sure what will happen with these Fire devices going forward.

That's kinda FUD. Fire Tablet and Fire Stick will still use it.
Tell management users are screaming for the update.
Pull quote from link: "So, you'll still find Appstore apps on Fire TVs and Fire Tablets. But if you were using Amazon's store on your Android device, you'll have to familiarize yourself with Google Play."

You may want to read message 34 here. If the Amazon Android store is going away there's little reason for Arlo or anyone else to put effort into anything.
Also, I don't ever remember Arlo stating that they officially supported that app store.
