I have a floodlight position over my porch. The activity zone is defined as my porch and a little bit of the street for two reason:
1) I want to have a recording of people getting too close. People are expected to walk in the middle of the curb, if not it usually mean they could be interest by something in my property. I caught people leaning against my property and leaving trash or stealing roses of the porch from the street, yet it still capture too many false positive.
2) Because of the lag in recording, we lose the valuable information of the preceding seconds. (a internal buffer of continuous recording merged with the recording triggered would be awesome to complete the missing information).
I'm receiving too many notification and the floodlight is switching on and off. Ideally, my porch zone would sent me a notification, switch on the light and record, while the street zone would only trigger the recording. That would solve all my problems.
I had packages stolen on my porch while at home because I stop paying attention to the notification which are too many...
Based on research, it seems there are is a lot of demand for feature request regarding the zones to have a granular control. Please Arlo dev team: focus on the zone features, there is so many features that could be helpful to a lot of people and it's a pure software problem applicable to all your products. Arlo calls this feature "foresight", and it is implemented in the Pro3 Floodlight.
But it requires the camera to be powered - capturing video continuously requires too much power for it to be practical when the camera is running on battery.

More granular control over activity zones would be useful, and I would like to see that. Another option (available now, but more expensive) is to add a second camera for the street.
Not sure why you didn't post this in the idea exchange, but I suspect the mods will move it there anyway.

Thanks for replying. Wasn't aware of "foresight. Based on the requirement you listed it should be enabled but so far I'm always missing the part where the people come from the curb to my house so it's either not working or the buffer is not large enough.
I was sure I was in the idea exchange, my fault.

One other clarification: the camera needs to be AC powered (in the case of the Pro3 floodlight, with the outdoor charger). The solar panel just provides a trickle-charge, and that isn't enough to enable the feature.
