Security light wont stay on more than 10 seconds without linking it to recording time...bad idea

I need th security light to stay on longer than 10 seconds and not have it tied to recording time. I want to record as long as there is motion. Not a set time but I want the light to stay on 5 minutes. Arlo, can you please fix this. It makes no sense to have the light linked to recording time. I use it as a security light also. When we go outside to take the dog out it keeps turning off on us just because we are out of range. Then it get very dark. Need a time setting for the light after motion is detected...an independent setting that has nothing to do with recording time. If we tell it to record for 300 seconds every time the light is on we will have a lot of wasted videos.

That's in your modes and rules. You don't have to record, just turn the light on. That can only be set to 2 minutes, not 5, but new motion will turn it back on.
