Connect to smart hub directly or via wifi to get CVR?

[MHR-Installer]

does Arlo pro 3 floodlight need to be connected directly to smart hub or can it be connect via home wifi in order to sign up for CVR?  There is not a location I can put a smarthub and have it connect to my cameras as they are too far apart.  The wifi mesh works.

CVR requires a base/smarthub - and also requires the floodlight to be connected to an AC charger.
