Are there any other options to directly power this other than buying a $50 magnetic plug? Can you have a permanent micro usb plug connected to the battery?

Neil1923,
You can power your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight outdoors using the outdoor charging cable or the solar panel. For more information on both Arlo products, take a look here: Arlo Products & Accessories

James C,
I have a similar question. I already have a hard wired regular flood light and want to replace it with the Arlo Floodlight (got excited with the Homekit announcement). Is there any way I can hook up the Arlo floodlight with the existing hard wire? Any kits/adapter avaliable?
