Arlo Secure worked great on my iPhone, suddenly won't let me log in. It will take my username and password, blink, and then want me to enter my username and password again. And again. And again.

I can log in and check my cameras from my Windows laptop, but my iPhone Arlo Secure App just won't work.

I have deleted and reinstalled the App several times. no luck. Any ideas/suggestions?

Maybe your iPhone still has junk files or there are still some settings causing conflicts. Try "reset all settings". This only restores settings and does not lose data

Try this on the phone:

  • restart it
  • put it into airplane (disabling both wifi and mobile data)
  • launch the app
  • wait for the internet connection error

Now take the phone out of  airplane mode, and you should be able to log in again.

I haven't seen this reported for about a year, so it would be helpful to know what version of the app you are using.

Hi Stephen;

Thank you so much for the reply and your suggestion. I've got an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I am running the latest iOS (17.5.1).

I tried your suggestion and it behaves exactly the same - it takes my username and password, blinks, then displays the same screen requesting a username and password.

It did not give me an "internet connection error". I am not sure what that means, but does it provide any helpful clues about what's going wrong?

Thanks!

It means that the app can't connect to the internet because the phone isn't connected to any networks.

You definitely should have seen that.  Are you sure you had both mobile and wifi turned off?

Hi Stephen;

Thank you for the reply!

On the negative side, my iPhone was indeed connected to both my wifi and cell coverage, and it still just froze and refused to log in to Arlo.

On the very positive side, before responding to you I tried to log in again from my iPhone, and THIS time it sent a code to my email, accepted it, asked me if I wanted to "Trust" this device, and then connected me into my account. I could see my cameras again!

The only possible explanation is that both the Arlo Secure app and my iPhone realized that a SuperUser/Guru was now helping me, and decided to just start working before you got mad.

I really appreciate your help! I love my cameras and the Arlo system, which I think is head and shoulders above the competition out there. Thank you!
