arlo pro 2 compatabillity

I  have a 5 camera "arlo pro 2" system, can I upgrade my cameras to the 4k cams and use them with my existing base hub ?

If you have a VMB4xxx base, then yes.  If you aren't sure what base you have, then look for a part number label that starts with VMB.  Then check the compatibility info here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility.

Note that all the newer cameras (including the 4K Ultra and Ultra 2 models) require a subscription to get cloud storage.  Without a subscription you would get notifications - but no cloud recordings.
