Upcoming multi-sensor system requirements

Hi.

I plan to by a Arlo Pro 2 system (with the VMB4000) Arlo Pro base station soon. 

But will this basestation/system support the upcoming new multi-sensor, sirene and remote control? Or will I have to buy the new Arlo Smarthub to use thes new gadges?

It's been a year since Arlo gave an update on these sensors. With buying a house and adding a security system i would like it all in one place. There could at least be an update saying it's delayed until farther notice or a time frame given.

It's not a Arlo's habit to keep the scheduled deadlines and communicate wisely. It's easier to make grand announcement at CES.

I like the Arlo Ultra, it’s far better than any smart cameras on the market. It never misses a face. In contrast, Ring’s cameras are affordable, but the footages are useless for the police to take actions  - it cannot be used to identify someone beyond doubt because it’s too blurry.

However, the competition in the smart security system market is fierce. Having only one advantage is not going keep you in the competition. The Pro3  2k, Pro3 floodlight and the Essential cameras are good to have, but not killer products. If Ring’s launches a good quality 4K camera in the near future, their smart security system product is complete, and that Arlo is going to play a catch up game.

I hope it’s not the new CEO’s idea to ditch the Arlo security system products lineup as shown in CES 2019. It’s a stupid move and will put Arlo into decline in popularity.

Almost 2 years waiting for these multi-sensors. The CES announcement was the key to finally decide to buy Arlo ecosystem. I feel a little bit cheated... and they don't even give us an estimated launch date

The rest of the options that I had evaluated (Ring or Eufy) already have sensors and an alarm systems, so I feel that I have made a mistake when choosing Arlo

They just haven't said anything at all since the press release 2 years ago, also not mentioned in their investor calls so I think it has just been silently scrapped.

I purchased my cameras after the CES 2019 announcement, we are now in 2021 and still don't have door or window sensors, what happened?

Possibility the pandemic limiting development and manufacturing. Parts from China came to a halt for a while and they may have just delayed it. The existing cams were out of stock for a while.
