It looks like Arlo wants to lose customers …
Since years, I own an Arlo Pro 2 system, which used to work fine and completely fulfilled my requirements. Recently the outdoor camera started to record a foggy video due to the humidity in the camera case. Since a few weeks the camera even doesn't record videos.
I was able to purchase two sets of Arlo Pro base station including a camera for a good price. I planned to replace my foggy camera with one of the new ones, which should work according to Arlo's compatibility list.
However, I was not able to install/replace the camera nor one of the new base station after hours of reading articles in the Arlo forum and unsuccessful installation attempts.
The forum is full of postings from users that have the same problem but no answers that solve the problem.
To me it really looks that Arlo does not want to support the legacy products any longer, even the installed base.
Unless I get the ultimate hint to replace my cam, Arlo will have lost me. Thank you for all your tips and support.

Having read a number of posts on here, that's my impression, too. Unless they fix the issue of legacy cameras not connecting to SmartHubs/base stations, it's the next battery-gate scandal brewing, or how else do you explain the fact that cameras all of a sudden don't connect anymore. The fact that they're EOL doesn't matter - they're not like milk that goes off or butter that goes stale and so should function as intended.

@see_you can you provide what base station that you purchased as well as cameras that will not connect? Were they bought brand new or are they used?

@BrookeN Thanks for your reply. I bought two sets of Arlo base Station VMB4000 including one Arlo Pro Camera VMC4000. I got them in the original box still sealed with the plastic stickers.
Thanks in advance for any support.

The problem might be caused by very old firmware. As far as I know there is no workaround if that is the cause. (Note this is a user-to-user forum; I do not work for Arlo).
